Little Touches That Can Make a Big Difference at Your Wedding

At Rocket, we believe that there’s always space for taking things up a notch, especially if it’s for your wedding day. Not only do we want you to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime moment, but we also want your wedding to create a lasting impression on your guests – those who will celebrate your most special day with you. We’re sharing five little tips that can go a long way on your big day, so keep on reading if you want to make your wedding as memorable as it can be.

Butter up

Who doesn’t love good butter to go with bread? At Rocket we most certainly do. We recommend Netherend Farm’s organic butter with Cornish sea salt, or for something more adventurous, try family-run Irish butter company Abernethy’s sensational compound butter, from black truffle and dulse seaweed to black garlic and smoked paprika. This summer, we’re making our own as our Head Chef Mattieu’s ‘burnt butter’ is taking our butter game to the next level.

Caffeine boost to keep the crowd dancing

If you share the same love for coffee with your soon-to-be spouse, you’re probably looking for a special way to serve the drink on your big day. Instead of just having regular filter coffee service, why not go for a coffee station, complete with a barista and an espresso machine? Here’s a tip: Have a self-serve bar right by it so guests can customise their coffee with their preferred milk, cinnamon sticks, chocolate, and also various-flavoured syrups. Having a coffee bar is a great way to hand out that much-needed caffeine boost among your guests and keep them dancing and in high spirits during the celebration.

Switch up the waitstaff uniforms

Make your staff uniforms stand out. Although the white shirt, charcoal waistcoat, tie and black trousers combination will forever be a classic in our books, it’s also worth infusing fun colours into the waitstaff uniforms depending on your wedding’s theme. Rustic garden chic? Denim and casual shirts in bright blue or orange can surely add to your wedding’s relaxed atmosphere. Romantic? Soft hues of pale pink and peach can elevate your waitstaff’s attire and overall aesthetic. Bohemian-themed? Have your staff wear playful whimsical flowers to match your decor’s British blooms.

Make a statement

A run of beautiful fabric down the table makes an impact, a rattan charger plate at each place setting adds texture, and a printed menu card gives formality and a special touch. “Napkins can be personally embroidered as place names, perhaps they are tied with a silk ribbon each with a little bunch of rosemary?” suggests our Head of Creative Rachel Warren. She adds that a ‘hero’ jug for water or a beautiful sharing platter can really make a statement while being practical too. Ceramica Blue offers unique and elaborate enamel jugs and serving platters for that touch of pizzazz.

Drinks for everyone

No wedding should be without an excellent curated refreshments list (check out our top tips from the previous season). This year, why not bring back the Magnums? Not only are they twice the size of a traditional champagne bottle but they are also double the fun and truly celebratory.

Similar to how you want to be conscious of your guests’ varying diets, the same care should go into your drinks menu. Presenting alcohol-free prosecco – someone somewhere in the crowd will surely appreciate it. Wild Idol offers naturally alcohol-free sparkling wine, hand-crafted from a superior blend of grapes. Another worthwhile non-alcoholic drink is French Bloom‘s Le Blanc, which is made from a blend of de-alcoholized organic French Chardonnay wine, organic grape juice and natural flavors such as lemon.
