Private party at Syon House

Working with renowned party planner Sally Renny, this breathtaking 21st birthday party was held at west London’s Syon House. A classically decadent Rocket dinner was followed by dark and mysterious drinks and dancing, in a space transformed by undergrowth and woodland theming.

The concept

The gorgeous setting of a grand London house meant dinner had to exude a similar opulence: dramatic candelabras, engraved glassware with gold accents, and a delicious, refined menu all married to set the tone of the celebration.

The bold, colourful themes that resonated throughout this first part of the evening were replaced with a wild, sultry feel. The after-party took guests to a mysterious forest, one where they could enjoy delicious cocktails served by masked ‘creatures’ of the night and feast upon Rocket burgers and cooked-to-order crepes, served from a whimsical vintage stand.

The menu

Upon arrival guests were served an array of canapés, from potato thins with truffle and parmesan cream to seared Scottish scallops with a parsley lescure butter. To begin the dinner, we served smoked Chalk Stream trout with pickled cucumber and caviar, while vegetarians enjoyed soft boiled quail eggs and shaved violet artichokes served with a young leek vinaigrette and mustard seeds.

For main course, it was either a whole salt baked celeriac with black truffle or a crown of Cornish lamb, with minted potatoes and a rose hip jelly.

Finally, guests finished with an assortment of desserts: raspberry lady’s cake, cinnamon and bay poached pears and a lemon mousse with curd cake.

The cocktails

A night of decadence called for luxurious cocktails; espresso martinis; ‘honey I’m home’ (a ginger, honey and peach concoction), mojitos and cosmopolitans.
