Rocket Recap: Chelsea in Bloom 2021

It’s that special time of the year again when the streets of Chelsea come alive as one huge sprawling floral display. Passing through Sloane Street, Pavilion Road, Duke of York Square, and King’s Road, ‘Chelsea in Bloom’ is the affluent area’s annual floral art show and London’s biggest free flower festival — perhaps a good reason why it is flocked by locals and tourists from all over.

At Chelsea in Bloom, there’s bound to be one elaborate installation that will pique your interest, whether it is a motley collection of eye-catching blossoms or innovative use of materials. Each year, retailers, hotels and restaurants in the area compete for the coveted Best Floral Display Award. Our Pocket Rocket team was delighted to have joined in the Chelsea-wide festivities with Lavender Green Flowers, one of London’s finest florists and the big winner of this year’s floral display contest (congratulations!)

At their evening drinks reception Lavender Green flaunted what they do best— sophisticated and picturesque flower arrangements created by their immensely talented team. Following the theme of ‘Extraordinary Voyages,’ their award-winning display highlighted some of their best floral collections while adding a subtle nautical touch. Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without Pocket Rocket canapés, which perfectly complemented the shop’s beautiful blossoms.

The next day, we were greeted by stellar weather at The Royal Hospital Chelsea for an all-day reception at the iconic Figure Court. The guests were happy to start the day with fresh peach bellinis and savoury and sweet brunch canapés like a miniature smoked salmon bagels with crème fraiche and pea shoots, all-butter pastries and French toasts, delectable Marinda tomato tarts, and more.

As summer sadly comes to a close, we’re buoyed by the creativity and beauty of Chelsea in Bloom and look forward to carrying the inspiration with us into autumn as our events calendar continues to fill up. Onwards!
