Celebrating Earth & Wellness Month at Rocket

At Rocket, sustainability isn’t a standalone initiative, it’s woven into everything we do. From the way we source our food to how we support our people, sustainability is a mindset, a core value, and a responsibility. It’s about taking care of the planet and our communities. But even with this embedded in our day to day, we believe in the power of pausing.

Earth & Wellness Month has become a cherished annual tradition at Rocket. Every April, our team dedicates time to slow down, reconnect with our values, and reflect on how we can keep building a healthier, more responsible future both as individuals and as a team.

This year’s programme was designed by our Sustainability Team, a passionate group with representatives from all departments, charged with helping us think smarter, and do better when it comes to sustainable practices across the business. Throughout the month, they curated a series of activities and engaging lunch & learn sessions designed to educate and inspire. These initiatives opened up important conversations and gave us practical tools to reduce our impact, both professionally and personally. Here, we share some highlights from Rocket’s Earth & Wellness Month.

Wellness Recharges in Battersea Park

Once a week, we wrapped up work an hour early and headed over to Battersea Park for a much-needed ‘wellness recharge’. Whether it was an energetic run, a gentle walk, or simply sitting and soaking up nature, it was a refreshing break from the usual routine – and a great way to spend time together outside the office.

Weekly Runs with Rocket Run Club

Born out of Earth & Wellness Month 2024, Rocket Run Club is now in its second year and still going strong. This year, we kept the momentum going with weekly park runs, open to all fitness levels. The atmosphere is always warm, encouraging, and inclusive, whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out.

Yoga & HIIT Sessions for Mind and Body

We rolled out our mats at Embody Wellness studio in Vauxhall for a calming afternoon yoga session. Additionally, we also had an energising HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) session in the park, led by a personal trainer from Made for Moving. It was a great way to get our hearts pumping and bond over some shared endorphins!

Volunteering Day at Ace of Clubs

One of the most meaningful moments of the month was our volunteering day at Ace of Clubs, our local charity partner in Clapham. The Rocket team came together to prepare and serve hot meals for homeless and vulnerable members of the community. It was a humbling and rewarding experience that reminded us of the power of food to nourish and connect.

Nutrition 101 with Workhappy

We welcomed a professional nutritionist from Workhappy for an insightful talk on staying healthy amid busy schedules. From debunking common food myths to practical tips for eating well at work, it was an inspiring session that left many of us rethinking our daily habits.

"Waste-less" Bake-Off Challenge

To wrap up the month, we got creative in the kitchen for another year of our “waste-less” bake-off, where the challenge was to use overlooked ingredients to whip up something delicious. Our Culinary Director Miles Greenaway and Sous Chef Flora Evans had the hard task of judging the entries, but the standout winner was a luscious apple miso crumble cake.
