A Banquet of Hope: Celebrating 30 Years of Ace of Clubs
Recently, Rocket was honoured to be part of Ace of Clubs’ 30th anniversary fundraiser, the “Banquet of Hope,” celebrating three decades of vital work supporting people facing homelessness and hardship in our local community.
Ace of Clubs, based in Clapham, has long been one of our partner charities and an organisation close to our hearts. For this milestone evening, Rocket’s incredible team from across all departments volunteered their time to deliver a full Rocket dinner service. From event managers and chefs to warehouse staff, the marketing team, and our Managing Director, it was inspiring to see such a brilliant turnout and representation from every corner of the business.
The evening began with drinks and a lively raffle, setting the tone for a truly special night. Guests enjoyed a menu from Rocket’s autumn winter collection, starting with heritage beetroot with chive and tofu emulsion and fennel pollen, followed by Cotswold white chicken with miso braised cabbage, romesco sauce, and girolles. Dessert was a highlight too, with a tiramisu lovingly made by Ace of Clubs themselves.
Thanks to the generosity in the room, the event raised more than £40,000 to help Ace of Clubs continue their essential food programme through the challenging winter months, an incredible feat and a true testament to the community’s compassion.
A heartfelt thank you to our partners Jones, Liberty Wines, and of course, Ace of Clubs, for helping to create such a memorable evening.
As Heidi Shrimpton, Director of Ace of Clubs, shared:
“Everything was so professional and slick, we couldn’t have asked for more. The comments from everyone were outstanding, the food, décor, lighting, prizes, auction, so many requests to do the event again next year. Most importantly, this generosity was so needed for our charity in order for us to keep running through these winter months for our guests, and really makes such a huge difference.”
For all of us at Rocket, this partnership means the world. It is a chance to give back to our local community, to come together as a team, and to support an organisation doing life-changing work. Every time we join forces with Ace of Clubs, it is a reminder of how powerful shared purpose can be, a heartwarming and fulfilling experience that makes us incredibly proud to be involved.
